Moving, something that was basically second nature to me now, who knows when i'll move again, but for now I think i'll enjoy The Hague.
I've always moved around, ever since I was little, but now that i've moved here, I can say this has been one of my favorite places.I'm a lot happier here, and I can say that with a smile on my face, its lovely to be in The Hague because I can just walk on out to a train or tram line and go where ever I want to.Im not as trapped anymore, this is mostly due to me wanting to get out I guess, The Hague city is such a great place to be and I could walk in town for hours and it would just make me happy.
During the winter, it was the first time I saw snow in a very very long time so once the snow started to fall I was as happy as any 5 year old who wanted to play in the snow, I walked out at 3am in the morning in my robe and just acted like a little kid, I made snowangles and threw snowballs at my mum who crazily enough was awake with me, it just gave me this overwhelming feeling of joy, I think we all remember that feeling of playing in the snow when we were little, for those of you who havnt seen snow ever, you know that feeling when you see something you like when you're little and you just go crazy? At that very moment I was a 5 year old who was running up and down the streets in her bright pink robe just taking in all the snow she could get. And it made me feel wonderful.
The Hague is also a place of love for me. I didnt move here alone, I moved with my family, I got to see the rest of my family which includes my sister who lives just down the road and my other sister who lives a few metro stops away. I also moved here with Sol (go read 'The Things I Did For Love') and that has made this move 100x better, we both explore the place, from different small cafes to little roads with amazing shops, having him here to learn new things with really does make a difference.
On my little exploration, I came across a small cafe called 'Cafe de Bieb', which is where I now do open mics nearly every Wednesday.I love that little cafe, I jump on stage and perform my original songs and it just makes me feel at home, a place where I can really express and be myself. For anyone who lives in The Hague, go check out the cafe! they have amazing hummus too (oh god im so hungry now).
